Classrooms

We have adequate classroom space. The Senior room is a double teaching space and is set up in two areas: one as a general teaching space and the other as for use with the Smartboard. A generous verandah is used for arts and crafts and other activities. The Junior room also has a wide verandah area used for Prep activities. Student desks are set up inside for desk work.

In addition to the general classroom spaces, a separate room is set up as a dedicated teaching space for Languages Other Than English (LOTE) and Music.

All classrooms have computer access. The two main classrooms also have a Smartboard. The school is air-conditioned throughout.

Library

Our newly refurbished Library is run by Administration Officer/Teacher Aide, Mrs Lori Hayden. The library is open mornings and lunchtimes to offer an alternative space for students to study and play. It is a classroom-sized room with many Junior, Senior and Non-Fiction books on offer.

otating displays are put up to coincide with book events throughout our school calendar. The highlight of the Library year is Book Week, usually held in Term 3.

Administration office and Principal's office

The Administration Office and Principal’s Office are separate rooms in the Administration building. These are located in our Main Building.

Tuckshop/Kitchen building

Tuckshop and kitchen buildingOur school is very fortunate to have a large and separate tuckshop and kitchen area. This building is regularly used for Tuckshop Treat Days and on cooking days. The kitchen is fully fitted and has serving windows at the front.

Play spaces

Ovals

As well as a large Main Oval, our school also has a Top and Side Oval. Ovals are used for daily exercise and play and serve as a venue for Small Schools’ Carnival practice days and Activity Days.

Playgrounds

play equipmentOur school has two main playgrounds: a Senior playground and a Junior playground. The Junior playground has a newly-erected fort and play space funded by the Community Gambling Benefit Fund. The new sandpit has been erected with generous funding from Tarong Energy. It is hoped that a cubby house might add to these play spaces in the near future. In the play area is also a large cement pad used for handball and other games. In summer, this space is used for wet play investigations by the Juniors.

Tennis and basketball courts

At the western end of our school we have a tennis/basketball court.

Undercover area

The Undercover Area is well-used for ball games and skipping as well as for our weekly Parades and special occasions.

Sports shed

We have a large shed dedicated to sports equipment.

Gardens

The special garden space under our Camphor Laurel trees provide shade, shelter and a lawn area for students to enjoy their lunches. This garden was created as part of the National School’s Pride (NSP) funding. Entry gardens were recently created through the Building the Education Revolution (BER) funding project. In conjunction with local organisation BIEDO and with start-up funds from Coles, our students have been able to create and maintain Children’s Kitchen Gardens at the western end of our grounds. These gardens compliment our orchard and from both of these garden areas, much fruit and vegies are harvested.

Lower buildings

Our Lower buildings include the Cleaner’s Room and Band Room. The under-the-building space is used for Band practice, play and as a sitting area on wet days.
